Jimmy Fatunbi narrated how he escaped death from ritualists
A student of the University of Lagos, Jimmy Fatunbi has narrated how he escaped death after two suspected ritualists attacked him inside UNILAG campus. He said the two kidnappers nearly blinded him after claiming that they were lecturers.
Fatunbi wrote: “When our campus is unsafe, what shall the students and parents do? I just escaped being blinded by two assailants, perhaps ritualists, who claimed to be lecturers(one is Dr. Taiwo in Art and Social science department. The other’s identity is yet to be ascertained) in the faculty of education right in my school.
However, I sustained serious injury aside my valuables that were taken: I am currently receiving treatment at the University of Lagos medical center. The matter has been reported and the security unit has swung into action. I believe that culprits, despite their ‘connection’ as they claimed, will be brought to book.Constituted authorities – The Acting VC, DVCs, DSA, Dean of School of Postgraduate school, Dean of Arts, Dean of Education.

Redeemers University expels Actor, Mr Macaroni, few days to his graduation, over a Facebook Post he made.
Actor, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, few days before his graduation from his University, Redeemers University, got expelled, over a post he made on his Facebook Page.
According to the University, Debo’s Facebook post was offensive and portrayed the university in bad light, an act that constitutes serious misconduct and punishable by expulsion.
A bittered Debo shared on Instagram, his pain;

Most of you would observe that I have been silent about Redeemer’s University lately. For those of you who know about my University life, most of you called me and sent me series of text messages 2 weeks ago asking why I didn’t go for my convocation.. this and that… as it was quite clear that I should have graduated in flying colors.
Well, the management of Redeemer’s University denied me of my joy that day. I had waited so long for that day, and while waiting, I served Redeemer’s University with all my life.
First as Social Director in my 300Level and then as President of both the student association and the graduating class. I ask anyone reading this to call anyone he or she knows in Redeemer’s University including the management that dislikes me so much and ask who Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni) is.
If they will speak the truth with the fear of God, they will tell you that I served the University with all my life and heart. I can’t plunge into the achievements of my administration in Redeemer’s University because you will get tired. I used everything that God blessed me with to promote Redeemer’s University.
I left Redeemer’s University a debtor. All my life savings was used in paying school fees for other students and making sure students were at least comfortable in the most possible way. Please just ask around.
For me, leadership was and still is service, selflessness and sacrifice through discipline, integrity and accountability to those we as leaders claim to be of service to and by God’s grace in whose name I swear, this was what I stood for.
I wrote my final exams, defended my project and was awaiting convocation when I was summoned by the management of the University saying I posted certain things that put the University in bad light.
Excuse me?
That I wasn’t given the joy to graduate on that day I waited patiently for broke my heart. Yet, I was willing to let that go out of love for my University.
Now look what I have been greeted with. I am trying to understand the reasons behind this action by the mgt of the University.
Could it be because for the first time in history, my administration refused to give the Vice-Chancellor and Director of Student affairs awards on our students appreciation day as we reached the conclusion that they didn’t deserve it?
Or could it be because my administration fought passionately for students rights; food, water, light scarcity? Could it be because I stood for the rights of students when they were falsely accused of defrauding the University….. the list is endless as I am still trying to help the University find a reason for her action.
I can go on and on, but I would simply rest my case for now as my parents have decided to take legal action against the management of the University.
I am bringing this to your attention because of the concern you have all shown and also so that everyone I have advertised Redeemer’s University to can see how exactly I am being paid back for my dedication.

This is the reason why I have been expelled from Redeemer’s University after years of passionate service and sacrifice to the University. I didn’t lead a riot as president of the Students Association, I didn’t steal, I didn’t fight, I didn’t break any rules and regulation.
I posted this after a meeting with Prof Wande Abimbola. The school mgt invited me for an ‘interaction’ and right there, I was told that the school mgt feels that this post is about them.
I repeated times without number that the post is simply an expression on issues of life and has nothing to do with Reedemer’s University. They however wanted me to admit by all means necessary that I was referring to the mgt of Redeemer’s University which I refused to.
I was asked to Go and weeks later I was denied the joy of attending my own Convocation. Now, I am greeted with a letter of expulsion for this post that I insist wasn’t for Reedemer’s University or anyone in it.

JUST IN! Kidnapped Female Corper Rescued In Nasarawa (Photos)
The Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, today met Corps member Nwankpa Blessing, who was recently rescued from kidnappers. The female Corps member was kidnapped some days ago in Nasarawa State. The corps member was rescued in good health.
Kazaure expressed joy over her safe release, and gave her words of encouragement.
He directed the NYSC Coordinator for Nasarawa State to give her all the necessary support throughout the remaining period of her service. Despite being offered opportunity to relocate, Blessing has chosen to remain in Nasarawa State till she completes the National Service.

Ndubueze Uche, a National Youth Service Corps member who reportedly drowned while swimming in Koko village, Delta State where he was serving has been buried amid tears from family and friends.
The young Nigerian man who died while serving his fatherland was buried at his hometown last Saturday. Corps members also attended the burial of their colleague following his untimely death.

Five Students Drown in Boat Accident During Excursion in Kaduna
According to news making the rounds no fewer than Five students from a private secondary school have drowned in River Kaduna.The students were on an excursion in Kaduna when they drowned in River Kaduna on Wednesday morning.
The five students included four males and one female drowned at around 11am in the course of an excursion in the area, a government source told Sahara reporters.
The incident occurred when a water board facility that draws water from the river to the water plant collapsed while students were on the excursion. Several others students escaped with injuries↧

Photos: Corpse Of Yet-to-be Identified Lady Dumped By The Roadside In Sapele, Delta state
The corpse of a yet to be identified young lady was dumped on Market road by Akintola road in Sapele, Delta state at about 10pm last night October 12th. According to eyewitnesses, a small dark car brought the lady to the area and dumped her body. No one knew the deceased was being dumped as the area was enveloped in darkness.
No identity card was found on her. All her vital organs were also intact but a small portion of her hair was reportedly shaved off. The police have been alerted while the corpse has been moved to the morgue.

Scrapping of Post-UTME Is False - Education Minister, Adamu Denies
The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has urged higher institutions and the general public to disregard social media reports that he has cancelled Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME).
A statement by the Federal Ministry of Education on Wednesday in Abuja directed institutions to carry on with the conduct of the Post-UTME.
The statement was signed by Mrs Priscilla Ihuoma, Director, Press and Public Relations.
Ihuoma said that the minister also warned that institutions charging above the stipulated sum of N2000 for the exercise would be sanctioned.
“The attention of the Minister of Education has been drawn to a news report in the media claiming that the minister had issued a directive to universities to cancel the Post-UTME examinations already scheduled.
“The statement, according to the report, was issued by Mr. Ben Goong, Deputy Director of Press.“The Ministry would like to assert emphatically that the report is completely false and without foundation; Minister therefore urges universities to go ahead with their Post-UTME arrangements as earlier planned.
“Mr. Goong, who purportedly issued the statement, ceased to be a staff of the Ministry since November, 2016.
“The attention of the minister has also been drawn to some of the institutions who are charging more than the stipulated N2, 000.’’
Ihuoma said that the minister viewed it as an act of insubordination and emphatically redirected that every institution that violated the directive would be made to face disciplinary action.
She said that the minister directed such institutions to refund to the students immediately as Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board ( JAMB ) had been directed to compile list of violators for appropriate sanctions.
“The ministry also urges the media to always endeavour to crosscheck facts with the relevant officials of the ministry before publication, particularly when such sensitive matters of national importance are involved.”

SMH! JSS 2 Student, Asmau Ajibade Who Was Declared Missing, Found In Her Boyfriend’s House (Photo)
Earlier this year, guardians of of Asmau Ajibade, a Junior Secondary School 2 pupil of Agbara Commuinty Junior Secondary School, Ogun State, declared her missing, seven days after she left home for school without returning home.Asmau lived with her guardians, Alhaji Rauf Adetona and Alhaja Ajarat Adetona, on Area 8, Road 810, Block AM, Plot 18, OPIC Estate, Agbara, off Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ogun State.
Ajarat said the girl had been living with them since she was four years old, adding that she was surprised by her disappearance. She said it was the first time she would leave home without returning.
However, a report by Punchng, indicates that John, a guard in Igbo Elerin, in the Agbara area of Ogun State, has been picked up by the police for allegedly abducting her. Asmau Ajibade. John was apprehended along with a cobbler, Moses, who lives on Opic Estate, Agbara.
The cobbler reportedly connived with John, who kept the girl in his apartment for several days. The cobbler, who helped the girl to fix her torn sandal that morning, had told the guardians that she appeared to be in a hurry when she came to fix the sandal.
Records of the school also indicated that she was absent on that day. The case was reported at the Agbara Police Division. It was, however, said the girl was found in Oko Afo, Badagry, last Saturday by a family friend of the guardians.
One of the guardians, Alhaji Rauf Adetona, said Ajibade confessed that it was the cobbler who hooked her up with John, adding that she spent four days with the lover.

Shocking news reaching us at this hour is that of a Nigerian teenager who allegedly committed suicide because her boyfriend broke up with her.
After a source hinted us about the situation, we took to one Slimzy Jay’s social media account to find out how true the report of her demise is… only for us to reach her page and see RIP messages clouding her posts.
In these posts, users alleged that the teenager committed suicide sometime this morning after her boyfriend left her – investigating further, we discover that the last time she made a post on her wall was yesterday, at 3:30pm where she tagged one of her friends, Ber Nice.
Compliments begun filling the comments section until some hours ago when it took a new toll and it was RIP comments that clouded the post.
The last activity of Slimzy Jay on Facebook was when she replied her friend, Ber Nice, whom she tagged in her latest post, at around, 4:37pm, an hour and seven minutes after she made the post itself.
Her friend, Ber Nice replied some comments that insinuated that her death reports are fake – according to her, Slimzy’s family can’t fake their tears over her and the fact that she killed herself because of a man is not true.
She says the last time she saw her was yesterday morning.
